Travel Itinerary in the Exumas
Day 1
Nassau to Highbourne Cay
We pick you up at Nassau and once ready, we will leave for Highbourne Cay. Ideally it would be nice to start the trip at 8:00 AM. We will travel for about 40 miles to get to Highbourne Cay (it will take us around 4 hours of navigation). Upon arrival to Highbourne Cay, you can choose to stay at the marina for the night (extra fees for the marina: https://highbournecaybahamas.com/marina/ ) or we will find a place to spend the night at anchor. We have a dinghy which you can use, that gives you access to the island if we spend the night at anchor. You can explore the hiking trails or do some snorkeling in the area. There are also some beautiful beaches to visit nearby.
* Note that the itinerary can be changed without notice and without compensation, depending on weather conditions.
Day 2 & 3
Highbourne Cay to Staniel Cay:
On the second day we will go to Staniel Cay, which is the farthest location of our trip. We have 50 miles to travel, and this will take us about 5 and a half hours of boating. As one of the most popular places of our trip, we intend to spend 2 days at this location. You will get to see, among others things, the famous swimming pigs. Several other activities are offered depending of your preferences. There are the Thundeball Cave and the whirlpool ”Rachel’s Bath”. We can sleep at anchor or stay at the marina for 2 nights (extra fees for the marina: https://www.stanielcay.com/ ).
* Note that the itinerary can be changed without notice and without compensation, depending on weather conditions.
Day 4
Staniel Cay to Warderick Wells
On the fourth day we only have 20 miles to travel (about 2 hours of navigation). We will go towards Warderick Wells. Here, you can opt for a mooring buoy for the night provided by the Government of the Bahamas (extra fees for the mooring buoy: https://bnt.bs/payexumapark/ ) or we can sleep at anchor. Discover the Boo Boo Hill trail and the Blow Holes. You can also visit the carcass of a 53 feet whale!
* Note that the itinerary can be changed without notice and without compensation, depending on weather conditions.
Day 5
Warderick Wells to Shroud Cay
Another short distance ahead for the fifth day, with about 20 miles to travel (about 2 hours of boating). Relax in an extraordinary place with beautiful landscapes. You can use either the kayaks or the dinghy to visit the small rivers surrounded by beautiful mangroves.
* Note that the itinerary can be changed without notice and without compensation, depending on weather conditions.
Day 6
Shroud Cay to Norman’s Cay
During the sixth day, we will travel the shortest distance, about 10 miles (around 1 and a half hour of boating). At Norman’s Cay you can explore a plane wreck, caves and abandoned houses.
* Note that the itinerary can be changed without notice and without compensation, depending on weather conditions.
Day 7
Norman’s Cay to Nassau:
The last day of the trip will return to Nassau’s island. It will be a long trip of nearly 50 miles (about 5 and a half hours of navigation). If you still have days off before returning home, we suggest you to take this time to visit the beautiful Atlantis marina’s scenery.
